These words are anything but wise. Rilke was the only child of an unhappy marriage with a unhappy childhood. His mother called him Sophia and dressed him in girl's clothes till he was five. He was a great poet and writer, but totally messed up. His own marriage did not last but a year ..."togetherness between two people is an impossibility"..
